Nicholas DiGiovanni is editor of an award-winning newspaper in western New Jersey. He runs the annual Delaware Valley Poetry Festival, which has featured Robert Pinsky, Louise Gluck, Gerald Stern, Paul Muldoon, Thomas Lux and Stephen Dobyns. DiGiovanni grew up in Yonkers, New York. His work has appeared in Paterson Literary Review. “Little Davy” is excerpted from his novel Half Moon, set in Yonkers, whose native sons and daughters include Ella Fitzgerald, Jon Voight, Lawrence Ferlinghetti and David Berkowitz, the Son of Sam.
