It is gray and frigid outside. I have accomplished little at my desk. I have plans, when I return home, to draft an essay about love. So I want my walk around the lake to go quickly.

Bonnie J. Rough (email@example.com) won the 2006 Iowa Review Award for her essay "The Birdmen," and the 2005 Annie Dillard Award for Nonfiction from Bellingham Review for her essay "Slaughter."
