How to Leave the Last Rain

If the end of water falls this night,
capture those final drops in a bottle,
save its marinade of leaf-sweet air,
let it age on the kitchen windowsill.
Tell water it can stay, even after
glass yellows & algae blooms.
Lock the door. Let thirst
find another way.
