This is a very fat poem
to celebrate four years
of not getting married (hurrah)
and to commemorate ALL THIS
trimming the fat of our lives
while our hard bodies grew soft
isn’t it so nice
that after all those years
of skinnybones, angular, downright misery
of being mean to ourselves and to our eachothers
isn’t it so nice to have some softness now, JUST THAT
