Swim steady circling nowhere
endless rotation like the dead
eyed shark haunting the dark,
gentle jellyfish ghosts
hovering hollow overhead
billow and burst, entrails
electric dangling to tether
hurt like the sharp hook
jaw of a turtle searching
for escape or the eel
blank faced and holding
still as death to lure
any fish foolish enough
to believe in safety
inside an aching mouth.
