Reverse Cowgirl

I can't think of anything to type here but you should know this story has to do with the Reverse Cowgirl aka Susannah Breslin who is tall

reverse cowgirlI've always been really obnoxiously bad at writing reviews, so the thinking here is I need to scrap the whole "website review" idea and sort of just blab on about whatever website I feel like blabbing on about.

Since I've been referenced on Susannah Breslin's Reverse Cowgirl blog three times in the past week, it seems as though maybe I should talk about that one this time.

Susannah Breslin is a pornographic priestess/writer/photographer/blogger living out in LA. I don't know what a pornographic priestess is, and I can't ask John Lennon because he's dead and stuff. But it kind of fits. You know, sort of.

She has written for Salon, Details, Nerve, LA Weekly, Exquisite Corpse, Harper's Bazaar, and of course Identity Theory. You might have caught her on Bill Maher's Politically Incorrect, Fox News, CNN, or, most likely, The E! True Hollywood Story for Larry Flynt. She also does reporting for Playboy's Sexcetera.

So like, Susannah has this blog, the Reverse Cowgirl (you gathered that), where she writes about porn and occasionally other things, like sex. If you typed "bukkake" into a search engine and didn't end up at Identity Theory, you probably got her blog instead.

The Reverse Cowgirl is the most popular blog on Salon, receiving about 3000 hits a day (at least that's how many it got yesterday)--and nearly 400,000 since July 2002. It is a pretty sweet mixture of Susannah's very stylish writing and photography and a healthy dose of smut. For a blog about porn, there is actually very little nudity.

Being the pioneering sort, Susannah comes up with random cool ways to keep the blogosphere revolution in the news. She is doing for blogs what Dennis Miller did for Monday Night Football. Wait, no.

She is heading an event taking place in Los Angeles on February 15th called "Live from the Blogosphere!" It is going down in Chinatown, so if you're out in LA, you should stop by and maybe there will be free porn. I mean, food.

"Live from the Blogosphere" is a panel on blogging. The six panelists are Susannah, Doc Searls, and four people I had not heard of but who are probably kind of interesting. You can click in the picture and get more info. It's going to be pretty good I think.

The last I heard, Susannah is developing a TV pilot for MTV Networks based on her blog. I happen to think this is a good idea, so I wrote a letter to Comedy Central demanding that they take on the project. I kind of think a better idea would be to do a show kind of like the Real World, where the people who live in the house all have fairly popular and different auteur-type websites. Put Susannah, that Maddox guy, me, and like, I don't know, a few other people under one roof and see what happens when cyber people start getting real. We can invite Birnbaum, and he can do interviews in the house. Hey, you know, I think that's a really good idea. Go me! It could be produced by Kato Kaelin. He needs a job.

Occasionally Susannah finds it in her heart to mention me and/or Identity Theory on her blog. I'm here to tell you, nothing quite equals the satisfaction of having your name on the same page as a baby Jesus buttplug.

Anyway, that's all I have to say about TRC for now. Actually, I should also point out that the graphics and design on her site are pretty tight. They are the work of one Chris Bishop.

In closing, here is some of the stuff Susannah did on Identity Theory:
