Brevity
A Poem by Yi Dong
Roads branched into trails
connecting thatched cottages
and groves of peach trees.
A boat with two oars
withdrawn
floats
away from the dock
where it used to moor.
A hawk with its wings
swept back
is diving
toward a rodent
that's been aimed at for a long while.
Clouds lifted by mists
fit into the spaces
like cotton sprung up by strings.
