I’m finishing up Lethem’s Chronic City and Hugh Barker/Yuval Taylor’s Faking It: The Quest for Authenticity in Popular Music.
Seriously. I go to Malaprop’s all the time and pick this book up and read the praise and think, “Wow, this must be a fucking great book.”
First, I am not the strong reader I might like to be. Second, I found Chronic City tedious, boring, and uninspiring. Third, the second might find cause in the first.
