Newspapers and television

Yeah – eat the rich.

4. In what way do you think music has the ability to change the way people live their lives?
It can bring spine-tingling poetry to everyday life.

5. At what age did you first feel distrust?
From my earliest memory.

6. Do you think that your name is appropriate for you?
(If not, what name would be more appropriate?)

Yeah, I do. It’s ugly, and sometimes even embarrassing, but I don’t mind.

7. What is the best piece of music you’ve ever created, in your opinion?
A guitar solo in a punk club in Minneapolis, 1989… New Year’s Eve. Unbelievable, and I can’t remember a stitch of the evening. I heard it back on tape.

8. Right now, how are you trying to change yourself?
Discipline, my friend, discipline.

9. If you had the time, what else would you do?
Surfing, kayaking, field recording ancient musics. Visit my family.

10. What social cause do you feel the most strongly about (negative or positive)?
The destruction of human decency by corporate greed.

11. What are your fears?
That I will end up homeless and destitute.

12. What is your favorite joke (tasteful or tasteless)?
I love jokes, but I can’t think of a favorite.

Harry Crews

Another tough one, I love Herzog.

Gene Clark – No Other

God

17. What is one thing you would like to do/see/accomplish before you die?
I’ve already done it.
