Armageddon Warfare
by Leisa Pierce
One:
Political Armageddon
at our fingertips
Two to two
One to one
Tarry
I could write this
at any given point
or time in history
Two:
I am not
swayed
by my own arrogance
and the few who adore
without knowing
or touching the core
Three:
Tourists pose on a surfboard
bench with arms outstretched
fear of real water
covered in New England jackets
Four:
I have a quirky vision
face the world
embrace
the Angel of Death
clear the attic
and forge straight ahead
Five:
The ocean roars
behind me
I smile with genuine lips
it feels warm and desirable
I pledge from this moment
on to be at all times
who I am
Six:
I think maybe
this is the green poetry
she spoke of so long ago*
Seven:
Unplug
