Love working with words? Come work with us.
Identity Theory, a literary and cultural journal publishing online since 2000, is seeking talented volunteer editors.
Working at Identity Theory provides the rare, valuable opportunity to obtain quality editorial experience in an intellectually stimulating online environment. Words that describe the ideal volunteer: passionate, friendly, and very good at Scrabble. You don’t have to own an iPad (we don’t!), but you should know your way around the Web.
The following editorial positions are currently available:
Fiction Editor – The fiction editor will work with our fellow fiction readers to acquire quality short stories, read unsolicited work, and polish stories for publication. Time Requirement: 4+ hours per week.
Essays Editor – The essays editor will help the editor-in-chief acquire quality nonfiction submissions, read unsolicited work, and polish essays for publication. Time Requirement: 4+ hours per week.
Copy Editor – The copy editor will help prepare articles for publication. Time Requirement: 1-3 hours per week.
Others (Graphic Design, Blogging, etc.) – We’d love to hear from anyone with a high level of motivation to develop their creative talents while working on our magazine.
Email Matt Borondy at email@example.com to express your interest in helping to shape the future of our publication. Please explain why you want to work with us and your qualifications (a resume, a few relevant links, a good recipe, or somesuchthing).
Though based in Asheville, NC, we welcome enthusiastic volunteers from all over the world.
